Choose your level of fright as the MEZ transforms into Scary House in MEZ 1, a family-friendly adventure filled with playful Halloween fun, or experience Into the Dark in MEZ 2, a much more intense immersive environment built for those looking for a serious scare.
Experience one or both. Just don’t expect an ordinary night at the museum.
The Museum of Art + Fright takes place after regular museum hours. The museum’s regular galleries will be closed during the event.

Into the Dark
Terrifying. Chilling. Enter if you dare.
MEZ 2 | $10 per person | Recommended for ages 12+
Museum members receive 10% off tickets purchased online or at the door.
Advance tickets are suggested.
Guests visiting Into the Dark are also welcome to experience Scary House at no additional charge.
Tickets may display an entry time, but guests may attend at any point during event hours on the date of their ticket.
Tickets are nonrefundable, nonexchangeable, and nontransferable. Same-day re-entry is permitted with a valid ticket.

Know Before You Go
The Museum of Art + Fright is designed to surprise you, so we’re keeping some things secret. Here are a few things to know before you enter:
- Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Into the Dark is currently recommended for ages 12+, but this is a recommendation rather than an age restriction.
- Water-based haze (fog), flashing lights, loud sounds, sudden scares, screams, and other intense effects are used throughout Into the Dark.
- Guests with heart conditions or sensitivities to flashing lights, water-based haze (fog), loud sounds, or sudden scares should use caution before entering.
- Both experiences are wheelchair accessible.
- Costumes are welcome, but masks or anything that obstructs vision are not permitted.
- Props are not permitted.
- Costumes may not extend significantly beyond normal personal space.
- No food or drinks are permitted inside the experiences.
- Photography and video are not permitted inside either experience. No spoilers.
- Guests enter through the museum’s main entrance. Into the Dark exits onto Houston Street.
