YOUTH CAMP FOR GRADES 5-8, July 28-30, 9 AM-NOON EACH DAY

Want to learn the basics of stop motion animation and get some behind-the-scenes information about how artists and designers digitally animate still images? In this three-day (half-day) experience, we’ll introduce you to the world of digital art and animation, and you will learn how to make a short animated video using simple materials (paper, varied art media, cell phone cameras and more). Our project will be inspired by artists’ works on view in the museum—students will create animated monsters to save the world using special super powers. Each participant will story board, sketch, create, and direct a personal short animation. Students are encouraged to bring a cell phone as a tool to use at the camp if available.

Parents must complete a waiver as part of the registration process for each student to participate. Waiver and registration information will be emailed following registration. Museum members receive 10% off.
